Dynamic! Exciting! Great way to learn and network! Proof that learning can be fun! I thought I knew how to write a curriculum but how wrong I was. Please offer this next year. It's such a great way to "recharge" before school begins. Great job!

In my ten years as an educator these past three days of training were the most concise and useful time that I've ever spent in a meeting. It was well worth three days of my summer vacation because I now have the tools necessary to take our counseling program to the next level.

I not only learned how to develop, write and implement a comprehensive counseling program, but also how to collect and use data to support & sell the counseling program to my school board/district as a professional and an advocate for professional school counseling.

Without a doubt I would give up three days of my summer again to attend the Nebraska Counselor Academy. It was pertinent, applicable and Trish Hatch is a fantastic communicator as well as teacher. I am looking forward to an advanced Counselor Academy next summer.

Non-attendees missed a great opportunity. Donna is working very hard to provide useful and practical support for Nebraska counselors. Trish Hatch was a gift. She is personal, practical and professional. I only hope other counselors will have another opportunity to be trained by her.

The Nebraska School Counselor Academy was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend it to other counselors & encourage the team along with administrators from their school to come. As a student in training this info was built upon what I have been learning is brining it all together. If there is another academy next year I would definetly be interested in attending.

As a result of the Nebraska School Counselor's Academy I now have the knowledge and the tools to provide meaningful feedback to our staff and community following guidance interventions. Trish Hatch is a dynamic speaker/trainer. She is focused, energetic and knowledgeable. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to train with her. I have grown personally and professionally as the result of this workshop. Thank you.

The Counselor Academy is an opportunity to improve your counseling program! If you've not started it will give you an overview of the model and give you plenty to work on if you use the model it will help you evaluate it and give direction as how to improve and what needs improvement.

Counselor Academy was well worth giving up 3 summer days. I now feel I know what a good school counseling should include and have the resources to begin to implement at least one change for next year. Donna Vrbka has done an outstanding job translating the National Model from ASCA to Nebraska Essential Learnings. Trish Hatch was a real motivator.

3 day training…using the standards - what they are, how grouped, how to flashlight what we do as counselors and how we make a difference - can show administrators, teachers, parents how counselors and counselor programs made a difference academically, personally/socially, and professionally. Basic foundation of a comprehensive counseling program to build a need based curriculum.

The counselor academy was great. Since OPS already does CCBG, I was afraid that the information would be a rehash of what I already knew. There was some of that but the majority of it was new - or at least a new way to look at and use the model. The idea of collecting data on only one competency seems much more manageable. Also, the different types of data-process, perception & results - was very helpful. Finally, using intentional Guidance was a totally new concept that I think we need to implement.

The Nebraska Counseling Academy has made a profound impact on my approach to administering & managing a counselor program. I am excited to use a proven model (ASCA) as my guide. I have faith that with the amendments I make especially in the areas of accountability - that the field of elementary school counseling will be resurrected in our district!
